Homemade ice cream!!

Here's something everyone should try if they're bored at home with nothing to do but the usual routine of waking up, bathing, going online, having meals, walking around the house and going out for a while, day in and day out... because you have an unbearably long holiday that seems to have only been desirable when you were in school~

If you can relate to how I feel, then yeah, this is something you'd want to try for the sake of trying something new~ :P Making your own ice cream. I like chocolate... so this is chocolate ice cream hahahaha xD tough luck if you don't like it :3

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoons of unflavoured gelatin
1 tablespoon of water
3 cups of low fat milk - divided
3 large egg yolks
1 can (roughly 14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup of cocoa powder
2 ounces of chopped up chocolate

How to make it:

Sprinkle gelatin over water in a small bowl; let it stand for a bit and stirring once or twice, while you make the base for the ice cream.

Pour 1 1/2 cups of milk into a large sauce pan. Add cocoa and chocolate to the milk. Heat the milk mixture over medium heat until it starts to steam - at which point you stop heating it up.

Then you beat the eggs and condensed milk in a medium bowl. Gradually pour in the hot milk mixture into the bowl until it's all blended smoothly.

You then return the mixture to the pan and cook over medium heat, stir it with (preferably) a wooden spoon, so that you can see when the back of the spoon is lightly coated - this usually takes around 5 minutes, more or less. BUT REMEMBER: never ever have it boiled or it'll ruin the whole thing and it'll start to curdle.

You'll then start to see some sort of custard-like thing beginning to form, so what you do is you sieve it and then put into a large bowl. Then you add the softened gelatin prepared earlier on and whisk them together until it melts -- then u add the remaining amount of milk add stir that together as well. Cover the whole thing up and refrigerate until chilled -- takes about 2 hours.

Whisk the ice cream mixture and pour into a can or a container where you want to store the ice cream in. Freeze it and then serve~ if you like~ you can put in cookie crumbles to make it nicer :D BUT the cookies have to be crushed into small pieces about the size of an average.... pea? and then it has to be chilled beforehand as well. Which you can add around half an hour after you put in the ice cream mixture into the freezer. Add 'em together and it'll be like cookies and cream x)

I feel like I should give my boyfie a go at this :D not a lot of people can say that their girlfriends made them ice cream right? :O hohoohohoho~ it will be EPIC! XD OKAY, all the best if you decided to try it~ :D
